Week 7 Chaos!
Ordered Chaos.
The phenomena of organized structures arising out of the complex patterns of chaos. I think we often tend to view chaos negatively, or as a state separate from our current experience. I think the idea of ordered chaos sums it up more correctly. It is all chaos! Chaos is not necessarily violent, dark, or confusing. Perhaps it is only this unpredictability that allows for such magical synchronicities to unfold.
Fractals as patterns of complex systems
I in no way understand the math underlying fractals or complex systems. I do find it fascinating that you can see fractals occur as patterns in nature. This would point toward fractals being patterns arising from complex systems. I also think it is very interesting that mandalas remind me so much of fractals. Human expression reveals the same patterns as the rest of nature! I read somewhere that fractals were found in Jackson Pollack paintings..
Consciousness out of Chaos
It would be easy to see how our consciouness could be a phenomena arising out of our complex structure (including brain, body, spirit, etc) There is an interesting school of study that considers our mind arising out of our embodiment. Our consciousness shaped by our physical experience, from the neural level, to our expereince of our bodies moving in space. Consciousness arising out of the complexity of our entire being, not just the complexity of our neural maps. Our wholeness is our consciousness. I think it is hard for the western mind to grasp that we can experience our wholeness without having present in the front of our consciousness every single cellular action happening in the body.

Week 6 Vibrations
Are all vibrations good?
Well, this question could truly be more about if "good" even exists at all, but I will spare everyone.... Vibrations run the entire spectrum of possibility, further than we even know how to measure. There are destructive vibrations, such as the resonant vibration of the Nimitz freeway causing it to collapse in the 89 earthquake. There are painful vibrations, such as the technology used for sonic crowd control. There are also just the plain old "bad vibes" associated with someone in a negative head space. So no, not all vibrations are "good".
Resonance in my world
When I first learned that heart strings actually exist anatomically, I was beside myself. The quality feeling of resonance is when I can feel those little strings just humming away. It is interesting to me how everyone resonates with different things, and differently at different times. It is so profound how our changing inner state is so impactful on how we "vibe" with things around us. When something resonates with me, it just feels right. No amount of trying to think something can make it the perfect fit. Resonance occurs with all sorts of things, colors, textures, music, pictures. It is so neat to me that we perceive what we resonate with thru our sensory organs. These organs are designed to pick up vibrations in different ways, kinesthetically, tactilly, thru light, sound and taste. It brings me back to constitutional types in Chinese medicine and all of the correspondences. Perhaps there is a more refined understanding of vibrations and resonance at the center of our medicine....
Energy and Qi.
Everyone is familiar with the formula e=mc2. Energy is matter going really really fast. Qi is an idea that encompasses this entire spectrum, from matter to energy. The evaporation and condensation of water is a great metaphor for how Qi is able to change state.

Symmetry and Sacred Geometry
My Asymmetrical world
Yes and no. Sometimes things appear symmetrical on the surface, but at a micro view they may not be. Or the other way around, an apparent asymmetry may in fact be symmetrical viewed up close. Also, I wonder how a world that is made up of so many parts could remain entirely symmetrical at all times. But this is all strictly speaking. There is also more of an artistic symmetry, but I guess that would be more like balance. If something is balanced is it symmetrical? Like a precariously balanced pile of rocks, the weight would have to be overall "symmetrical". Ok, I am starting to talk myself in circles. Simply, perfectly geometrically symmetrical... no. But somehow symmetrical in a way I can't find the words for.... seems like it!
What does CP violation mean?
"Nothing is true, everything is permissible"
We have already spoken about the way what is expected affects what is observed. What if we expected the unexpected. Spoon bending anyone?
Are there any connections between sacred geometry and physics?
Of course!!
I would guess that sacred geometry is the expression of physics on the macro scale. All of the itty bitty and great big forces and bits and pieces all storming about and we end up with patterns that are so beautiful and profound to the human's being we call them sacred. Woah.
There is a physicist in Hawaii named Nassim Haramein. He is working on the Resonance project and speak a lot about this connection. I have his 4 dvd set outlining all of his theories if anyone would like to borrow it! There is also a lot of information on his website theresonanceproject.org

Energy, Matter and the four forces
How has e=mc2 affected me?
Wow. Probably has a lot to do with how someone raised in a western scientific mind set can make the leap to an eastern perspective and medicine. In Chinese medicine we often talk about how energy and matter are merely different forms of the same thing, one is more yang, one more yin. I remember hearing about e=mc2 in high school and having one of those quiet moments where your entire being adjusts to foundation shaking information.
If I run fast enough I will turn into light? ;)
Compare the four forces.
Gravitational Force: weakest. unlimited range. graviton. attractive properties.
Electromagnetic Force: 2cd strongest. unlimited range. photon. attractive and repulsive properties. keeps atoms together
Weak Nuclear Force: subatomic range. attractive properties. responsible for radioactive decay.
What is the function of gravity?
To keep my feet on the ground.
It causes matter to clump in the universe, creating planets and stars...
Strong Nuclear Force: subatomic range. attractive properties. gluon. keeps the nucleus together.
